Ironwort is a perennial sub-shrub or herb, coated by a fine, woolly layer of microscopic intertwined hairs with simple branched stems, belongs to the Lamiaceae family, native to the Mediterranean region.
It has anti-inflammatory, antirheumatic, antiulcer, vasoprotective, anti-oxidant, antibacterial and antimicrobial properties.
Ironwort has been used to aid digestion, strengthen the immune system, suppress common cold, the flu and other viruses.
