Thyme is a herb which belongs to the mint family (Lamiaceae) with a lovely strong and fresh scent, it is used in drinks and cooking and it is recognized by its tiny, green leaves and thin stalks. Some of thyme’s many properties are: it is good for atopic dermatitis as it has a direct physiological response, thyme exerts anxiolytic effects which help with stress and anxiety, thyme is good for cough, bronchitis, and other respiratory conditions, it has analgesic (pain-relieving) and antispasmodic (spasm-relieving) properties, if made in a cream or an oil it is very effective for arthritis. In general thyme is a very good herb to use as it has many useful and beneficial properties.
It has antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial and antioxidant properties.
Thyme has an amazing strong taste that can be adjusted according to ones need and a powerful scent. The taste is similar to oregano and rosemary with woodsy, floral notes, and the scent much like of fresh forest air.
